Dong Fang hong (东方红）2023

Dongfanghong, the mother bush is said to have been planted in the late Southern Song Dynasty. It is more than 700 years ago. It belongs to the Huangzhi aroma type in Dancong tea and is one of the representative aroma types in Fenghuang Dancong tea. Dongfanghong is the No. 1 Song variety of mother tree.

 The mother tree of dong fang hong is also called "Song Tea". I have also used "spirit on the Rock 岩上珍", "Unity Tree团树叶" and "Chairman's Tea主席茶" (in 1955, when the People's Republic of China was founded, Chairman Mao's status among the people was very high, and people were praising "live a happy life without forgetting Chairman Mao". "It is said that the tea-making master Wen yongji 文永集of Fenghuang Wudong Mountain made 2 kilograms of Song tea and gave it to Chairman Mao for tasting, so it was named "Dongfanghong") I have been a Chaozhou daughter-in-law for 10 years. I have heard many versions about the origin of the name Dongfanghong, but this version is the most common one among Fenghuang tea farmers. It’s good for everyone to have a general understanding of these legends.  But we don’t need to care too much about the authenticity of these stories，Because they are just storys.

About this tea:

Dry tea: the ropes are tightly knotted, dark brown and oily;
