Aged Wuyi Yancha
Aged Wuyi Yancha oolong teas are some of the most treasured teas from the Wuyi Mountains in northern Fujian. These teas are carefully stored and allowed to mature over many years, developing smoother textures, deeper flavours, and more rounded aromas. The initial fire and mineral character of fresh Yancha gradually transforms into layers of dark fruit, jujube (similar to dried plum), longan (akin to dried fig), and gentle herbal notes.
Aged Yancha is valued for its balance and subtlety. The once prominent roast softens, leaving a tea that is mellow, sweet, and long lasting in the mouth. Properly aged Wuyi oolongs also gain a unique calming quality, making them highly prized among connoisseurs.
